MEK is proud to share its successful history with students of all ages and their families. Over the course of 17 years, hundreds of our BCA Prep students have received admission to and graduated from the Bergen County Academies, Bergen Tech, and the Academies at Englewood. We are excited to extend this tradition of excellence to our latest group of admitted students, and we look forward to serving as a supportive resource throughout their high school experiences.
Out of 83 BCA Prep students who made it to the interview portion of the application process, 55 will be attending the Bergen County Academies in the fall. Many other students received admission to private high schools, Bergen Tech, and the Academies at Englewood.
However, the journey doesn’t end once students get acceptance letters! MEK is dedicated to ensuring that our students get the most out of high school. Therefore, on May 4, 2017, several of our juniors and seniors from BCA returned to MEK to give the incoming freshmen some helpful advice.
They discussed the differences between middle school and high school, time management, study methods, extracurricular activities, positive relationships with teachers and mentor figures, and more. Entering a new and challenging environment can be frightening, but this panel discussion, a tradition unique to MEK, helps ease the worries of next fall’s freshman class.
This experience also gives older students the opportunity to reflect on their time in high school while giving back to the MEK community. Both faculty and students take pride in continuing our efforts to help the best and the brightest reach their goals at BCA.
This year’s panel allowed us to congratulate both the recent acceptees and the BCA/ BT students who will be attending college in September. Bringing successful pupils together to communicate at the BCA Upperclassmen Meetup solidifies our efforts to help students activate their potential and achieve their dreams.
This is an event we look forward to each year, and we hope the students enjoyed it as much as we did! Congratulations to the BCA, BT, and A @ E Class of 2021.
