MEK Review: Make-Up Policy
1. Group Classes
There are no make-ups for group classes. Students must complete homework and classwork before the next class. If any tests need to be made-up, students must schedule a time to take them.
2. MEK Labs (1-on-1 programs)
Make-up sessions are available for 1-on-1 programs (Math Lab, Writing Lab, Literacy Lab, and Reading Lab).
- Students are allowed 2 make-up sessions for every 10 registered sessions.
- Make-ups need to be scheduled within 2 days and completed before the end of the student’s registration period.
*for more details, please read below
3. Tutoring: Private or Semi-Private Sessions
If you must cancel or reschedule your tutoring you must notify MEK at least 24 hours in advance to receive full credit or rearrange the schedule. If you cancel on the day of your scheduled tutoring session, you will not receive any credit or rearrange the schedule.
4. Snow /Bad Weather Day Policy
In case of snow/bad weather days, we offer one make-up day for each semester, regardless of the number of closings.
MEK Labs 1-on-1 Rescheduling Details
For any notifications regarding absences, make-up sessions, or schedule changes, please email 24 hours in advance to: firstname.lastname@example.org or complete online makeup request form at www.mekreview.com/reschedule-session. All make-ups are arranged on a first-come, first serve basis, so please do not wait until the last minute.
Step 1: Go to www.mekreview.com/reschedule-session.
Step 2: Fill out form to request a make-up and then submit.
Step 3: In 24 hours, MEK will email back with a make-up schedule based on your request. If there are any complications, we will email you.
Step 4: Once you receive a make-up schedule, email MEK back to confirm that the make-up schedule is satisfactory and that you are confirming it.
“Consistent attendance in consecutive sessions throughout a registration period is the key to maximum student progress. Absences interrupt learning strategies and are difficult to accommodate because of busy teacher schedules. For every 10 registered sessions, students are granted 2 make-ups that must be arranged in advance (by phone, email, or conference) and attended prior to the registration ending date.”
More than 2 consecutive unexcused absences during a registration period will result in forfeiture of package pricing for remaining sessions. (This arrangement might require payment in addition to the original contracted rates).
1. How many make-ups am I allowed to arrange?
|Registered # of sessions||# of make-ups permitted|
2. What if we are running late to the 1-on-1 session?
Please call (855) 346-1410 to inform us you will be late. If you are late, there is no guarantee of students finishing at their original schedule time. There is also no guarantee that students will meet with their regular instructor. There may be a delay, as students will likely need to wait for the next available time slot.
3. What if I need to change my child’s regular 1-on-1 schedule?
Please email email@example.com with your new requested days / times to discuss this matter further.
4. Can make-ups be arranged with the same teacher?
We try our best to arrange it that way, but it depends on the teacher’s availability for the requested make-up.
5. What if my child is absent for a make-up session?
We can arrange a make-up for that absence, but you will be using a make-up session. Please arrange a make-up schedule that your child will not miss. The number of make-ups you are allowed are limited.
6. Is there a deadline for make-ups?
All make-ups need to be arranged before the registration ending date. They cannot be rolled over to the next registration date.
